Here we are! Doulos Photography has become Dave and Annie 🙂
I’m sure you have lots of questions! As we’ve talked to friends and family about this change, some of the same questions that I’m sure you probably have have come up. So, let me try to answer them all – and if you have more, ask away!
Who is Annie?
Well, that’s me (Rhiannon)! It was my nickname from birth through high school – and if you were to travel with me to my hometown (in western NY), that’s what you’d still hear most people call me. David was very confused on our first trip there together – lol!
Why use Annie now?
It is easier to spell, say, and remember than Rhiannon, don’t you think? Plus, Dave and Annie rolls off the tongue much nicer than David and Rhiannon. 🙂
Why the name change at all?
We asked ourselves why people would choose hire us to shoot their weddings over any other photographers – we kept coming back to the same thing: because we are who we are. Sure, we capture great images and moments; but, there’s more to being wedding photographers. As the bride and groom, you spend more time with US than with each other on your wedding day – so you’d better like who we are as people just as much as you like our images! So, why not start with us? We want to let couples get a glimpse of who we are first – and learn more about them too – to make sure we’re all a good fit together. Incidentally, this is one of the main reasons we recommend an engagement session: if you don’t like us (our personalities don’t mix well, you don’t think we captured you well, etc), you have a chance to fire us and find the perfect photographer for your big day: because, after all, that’s what we want too (even if it’s not us)!
What’s the deal with your logo?
We are fairly laid back people (in case you haven’t figured that out by now) and also love the outdoors (our favorite date night is sitting by a campfire after all). However, we also wanted people to know that we are serious and professional as well! So, we felt like the snuggling acorns (to represent us or the bride and groom) combined with the font chosen gives off both of those vibes. Do you agree?
Who designed your logo?
Our amazing friend Kat Carlson designed this for us – and put up with our craziness 😉 I highly recommend her if you’re looking for some graphic design work – especially if you’re a photographer looking to rebrand – she is so worth the investment!
