This wedding was one of those weddings that even if we had booked our maximum number of weddings for the year already (they were the first to contact us for this year), we would have bent the rules to be a part of this one anyway. This is the fourth wedding we’ve photographed that Pam has been a part of – so that made it extra exciting for us to be a part of her wedding day and get to see her walk down the aisle to her dream! She and Brian have said to us many times that it was a no-brainer for them to hire us to shoot their wedding, but it was also a no-brainer for us to accept!
From start to finish the day was fun and amazing. I love when it’s like a big party as the bride and her girls (and moms) all get ready. The makeup artist, Jonathan was amazing – both as an artist and a person! He not only did beautiful work, but put everyone around him at ease. I personally love that he started and ended with Pam too: he gave her the “kissed by the morning” look to have while she got her hair done. Beautiful and smart 😉 It’s also awesome to have family surrounding you on your big day – like when your stylist is your aunt! And, as you’ll see in one of the images below, that’s super helpful when you need a little fix at the reception 😉
We also really enjoyed the ceremony – the priest was hilarious and engaging – and he had so much great advice for the couple. And the church: beautiful! Its cathedral ceilings lined with wood and beams are majestic and the walls lined with stained glass windows were a joy to capture. We’ll definitely be excited if any of our future couples decides to get married in this church.
There are so many things to say about the reception and the details of this wedding. A bouquet made from brooches collected from family members, images at each table of the bride and/or groom with the guests sitting there, a bar that looks like a wagon, a real fireplace with a cozy fire and comfy leather seating, the food!, and a DJ who also plays the saxophone . . . wow! Thanks so much Brian and Pam for allowing us to capture your special day – we had a blast!
